15 things I’d rather do than drive through a winter storm.

most people have a deep fear of snakes, spiders, small spaces, and heights. I have a fear of winter driving. my first experience driving in snow ended abruptly with a patch of ‘black ice’ and a metal stop sign. not to mention it was my dad’s car and he was on a tropical island vacation with my mom, not to be reached by telephone. the car was totaled, and so was I.

I was taught to take it slow. to pump the breaks when trying to stop on ice. to put the car in a lower gear when going down steep hills. but I’ve never quite mastered how to breathe & relax when snow is falling and I’m behind the wheel. or in the passenger seat.

[*editor’s note: I am now a good driver in winter conditions. but am scared shitless of other people sliding into me. true life].

15 things I’d rather do than drive or ride through a winter storm.

  1. go on a 90 day coffee fast.
  2. watch miley cyrus’ VMA performance on repeat, 32 times.
  3. get my wisdom teeth removed. again.
  4. shake hands with kanye west and tell him he’s a good person.
  5. go sledding naked.
  6. eat only broccoli for a month.
  7. get a full-body wax.
  8. drink prune juice.
  9. run a marathon.
  10. work out in heels & full glam.
  11. replace walking with hopping everywhere I go.
  12. clean the laundry & dishes for the entire neighborhood.
  13. ban myself from all social media.
  14. only watch the TV guide channel.
  15. stay home.

in the words of my friend megan of the thread affect: if only we were allowed to drink alcohol in the passenger seat ..we could pretend we’re on a holiday sleigh ride through a winter wonderland.

but since we can’t, I’ll continue to have minor panic attacks.

or stay home.

happy wednesday!

so glad I’m not alone. it is the absolute worst feeling when you’re driving and counting cars in the ditch, praying one of those will not be you. I rather stay home, watch the snow through the window!! it’s much safer 🙂

haha I love “replace walking with hopping” too funny. Yes driving in the snow is no fun. I also hate driving in torrential rain when you literally cannot see anything in front of you.

it’d probably be awfully dangerous to hop around in the snow, but over driving ..I’m willing to risk it. torrential rain is no fun either!! all for staying at home during any precipitation, say I 🙂

the snow is very pretty when you’re tucked safely under the covers in your flannel pajamas. but I am less than a fan when I have somewhere to be. good thing [J] is a grrrreat driver! I’ll keep my butt in the passenger seat. thank you 🙂
