I’ve started to lovingly refer to myself as “baby beluga” (yes, the nursery rhyme michelle always sang in full house). I’m in the stage of my pregnancy when bending over is actually becoming quite difficult, getting dressed in the morning has become a nearly impossible feat, and I’m so close to asking my husband (nicely) to put on every pair of shoes for me. the struggle is real. another reality I’ve come to .. all of those things your friends tell you about what happens when you’re pregnant, they actually do happen. although I told myself on numerous occasions “that won’t happen to me”. they do. but don’t fret, you will catch a few breaks. (for example: i’ve yet to experience the dreaded heartburn. now I must go knock on wood). I just think, your body is doing an incredibly amazing thing. there are bound to be a handful of unpleasant side effects. they’re worth it.
26 weeks pregnant.
it’s hard to wrap my head around how fast this pregnancy has gone so far. we found out in august. waited what felt like an eternity for our first doctor’s appointment at eleven weeks. and since, it’s flown by. at the end of this month, we hit our THIRD TRIMESTER. (and start seeing the doctor every two weeks). our little one will be here in three months. and we have SO much to do to prepare for the arrival. so far the nursery has been painted a pretty color + the husband hung an amazing light fixture. we’ve ordered a crib, dresser + rocking chair, but with anything you’re highly anticipating .. there have been back orders + crazy delays. I tell myself each night, “it’s ok, they’ll arrive before baby does”. (send that out into the universe, right?).
I’m excited to start sharing weekly updates from here until the arrival! a little bit of pregnancy + hopefully a lot of baby prep, as our nursery starts to come together and we begin to fill the closet with sweet baby clothes.
