if you follow me over on instagram (@chelsea.diehl), you know how I feel about aldi. yes, the grocery store. I frequently share my latest finds, staple items, and all encompassing love. as a child, I often accompanied my grandma on grocery trips there. excited to be the one to place the quarter in + retrieve a cart. fast forward many years, now an adult, I wandered in. intrigued by it’s convenient location to work + home and mostly curious as to what was inside. (wow, that was a very “boring adult” sentence I strung together: convenient location + curious about grocery items ..).
aldi is a very affordable spot to shop for groceries. while you won’t find many of the brands you’re used to seeing, don’t let that put you off. aldi has many of their own brands. the quality is good + the prices stay low. in fact, they have measures in place to keep their prices down AND be more eco-friendly.
TIP: bring a quarter to get a cart (you’ll get it back when you return it) + your reusable shopping bags!
I am not shocking anyone with the food I got at a grocery store, so let’s talk about what else you’ll find wandering the aisles: ALDI FINDS!
every wednesday, aldi releases what they call their “aldi finds”. these are food + non-food items you can find that week only. many of them are inspired by the season or an upcoming holiday. in other words, everything you didn’t know you needed at that very moment.
here are 8 items you won’t believe I got at aldi:
- counter-height bar stools
- dutch oven (see mine over on this post)
- indoor + outdoor plants (including two fiddle leaf figs)
- 3-wick candles
- throw blankets (glow-in-the-dark for kids)
- over-sized animal pillows (we have a sloth + dinosaur)
- children’s books
- clothing (sherpa pullover, yoga pants, sports bras)
TIP: the large + more intriguing aldi finds go fast. so, get there when your local store opens on wednesday morning to have the best chance to snag your item. (extra tip: occasionally, they’ll start putting out the aldi finds a day early).
