if you came to my front door right now, I would not let you in. I’d be terribly rude and refuse to welcome you. nothing personal. but besides the husband + our two fur children, not a soul is allowed in. (I should probably close the blinds). we’re moving into our new home in just weeks. so to prepare, we are sorting through each + every belonging under our roof. we’re saying yes, donate, or sell. down to the two bobby pins I found under the couch. I am right now sitting among nine rubbermaid tubs. all demanding to be sorted through. you can’t take more than two steps forward without landing on a miscellaneous object. it gets worse before it gets better, right? (let’s just hope we don’t lose the cat in the packing process).
being the “calm + happy when the house is clean + organized” kind of gal, I’m losing my sh*t. to bring some life + fun to the house and to celebrate the arrival of spring, I made a few floral arrangements for our chaos.
how to create floral arrangements.
for the vases: purchase two plain cylinder glasses vases at the dollar store. tape off the bottom section. use a bit of mod podge + sprinkle with gold glitter. let dry. for the flower arrangements: once the vases are dry, fill with water. tape off a grid on the top of the vases using clear scotch tape. grab your fresh flowers. (I always pick up my fresh bouquets at trader joe’s. only $3.99!). trim the stems to desired height + arrange in the vase. keep one in the kitchen + one on your nightstand, or that’s where you can find mine.
do you keep fresh flowers at home? do you have a favorite vase?
