Des Moines, IA

some days (when your husband is out golfing), you grab your camera and go for a walk through the neighborhood. you capture the architecture surrounded by blue skies + white fluffy clouds. as a bonus, you reach your step goal on your fitbit, with ease. just as your journey is coming to an end, you hear a train. crossing your fingers it is a short one. a couple minutes later, you realize it isn’t and sneak into the nearest coffee shop for an extra large iced coffee for your wait. with coffee in hand, you walk 3 blocks to the tracks and stand waiting. 10 minutes go by. then 5 more. finally you see the last of the train cars crossover the intersection just to your left. your adventure has come to a close.

I am in such awe of the place I call home. and so grateful this is the “neighborhood” I get to take walks through.

I love my fitbit. I previously had the jawbone up, but it broke. I like this so much more, especially since it has a display screen so I can check my progress at any time. (and it’s a watch!). And yes, downtown DSM is beautiful!!! 🙂

I wish I lived downtown so I could take walks like that too! It’s definitely the most beautiful part of the city.
