go blog social workshop; Kansas City, MO

I traveled down to kansas city with my husband last weekend. [see our adventures here]. the reason for our trip was so I could attend the 1-day go blog social workshop. I knew it would be amazing + beneficial, but per usual it exceeded my expectations. you’re surrounded by + learning from some truly inspiring people. you leave ready to take on the world!

each attendee got to select three break-out sessions; I picked styling with styleesque, youtube with wake up for makeup, and branding with touch of ambition.

[fun fact: each of the speakers for the break-out sessions I attended are from des moines, IA].

• write + know your personal elevator pitch.

• I’m convinced youtube is for the brave. but ivy had me sold on the value of creating videos. if I can get over my fear, this will be the next step ..

• the world is unmoved by facts or figures; they crave stories!

• get up in the morning & read something inspiring! [like jenny’s blog].

• always be genuine + natural. if it feels forced, don’t do it.

jump wholeheartedly!

the big message: be authentic; stay true to yourself + your voice. and most importantly, if you don’t ask the answer is always “no”. so put yourself out there + go for it! I am very much looking forward to the 2-day go blog social event in april. back to kansas city ..

Great recap missy! Sidenote: love your handwriting. I could totally see you vlogging you and your husband’s adventures! And Sir Rigby too of course 😉 There will always be someone who isn’t a fan, but those people will exist no matter what so ya may as well do it! Thanks for attending!

ivy – I absolutely loved your session on youtube. I learned so much!! I just need to overcome this ridiculous fear & do it. oh sir rigby, he would be more or less a flash of light through the frame every once in a blue moon. he’s still in his “I can’t sit still for more than 3 seconds” kitten phase.
