welcome to a new series I’m calling “you’re 50. let’s fiesta”. taking place every wednesday during the month of june. I will be spotlighting elements from the surprise party I threw for my momma. see party recap here. including 3 DIY projects. (all can be easily reproduced for any party you’re throwing). today we start with my pride & joy. what’s not to love about pinatas? you get to beat the crap out of them. and in return, they shower you with treats. sounds like a dream. (not to mention, it’s hysterical. a person is blindfolded and swinging a stick hopefully in the right direction. usually not though). my mom’s party needed one. but it was a 50th birthday, not a 5th ..so I had to add an adult twist.
adult piñata.
[if it’s not obvious why you should use plastic ..glass is not usually paired well with blunt force].
I used 20 airplane bottles of liquor. [13 of them rum chata. she’s obsessed].
[the candy will hit the ground before it hits your mouth. make sure it’s wrapped].
voilà.
you’re pinata is ready to be beaten enjoyed.
she didn’t hold back. at all. nice form mom!
This looks such good fun, I’ve never played this game before! Especially if you get alcohol and sweets! 🙂
traditionally you can find pinatas filled with candy, as entertainment for a little kid’s birthday party. but the alcohol, I thought, was the perfect way to transition a childhood fave to a 50th birthday! 🙂
