it never ceases to amaze me the amount of gems in my backyard. more commonly known as, des moines, iowa. I have a significant list of must see places + events in the area. and at the slowest pace possible, my husband + I are chipping away at it.

just like every place I’ve crossed off my list (so far), I wonder “what took me so long?”. this place is no different ..

at west end salvage, they claim “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” and judging by the amazing pieces that fill their 50,000 square foot space, I’d say that’s a pretty accurate statement. you may have seen them before! they have a show on the DIY network, which I love. they design rooms in people’s homes with reclaimed items.

I know the husband + I just moved, but I fell madly in love with a large green copper dining table during our visit. it won’t fit in our current space, so I may consider moving again. just for the table. the owner of west end salvage, don, told my husband we can stand it on it’s end. #ProblemSolved.

do you love antiques + reclaimed pieces? do you swoon over victorian light fixtures + tin ceiling tiles?

Whoa! Awesome stuff, I wanna go! We have a local place similar to this, but it’s way less swanky in their displays and eye appeal. But literally unearthing a treasure can be fun too!
