I occasionally have a sweet tooth that cannot be ignored. I refuse to keep ice cream + candy in my house, for that exact reason. (and lack of willpower). but every so often the sweet tooth wins, regardless. the other night, desperate for sweets, I began rummaging through our pantry + refrigerator. I was trying to find ingredients for a “healthier” option I could concoct. (it was either that, or go to the nearest froyo shop).
ever since making these chicken sausage flatbreads, flatout bread has been a staple in our kitchen. their products are so versatile. perfect for a savory pizza, or ..
scrumptious fruit pizza.
did I mention how simple it is to make?
preheat your oven to 375°. while that is warming up, in a bowl combine equal parts greek yogurt + peanut butter (I used crunchy), a dash of cinnamon, and a few chocolate chips. let your flatbread hang out in the oven for approximately 3-5 minutes. just to toast it up a bit. once out, spread greek yogurt + peanut butter mix all over the flatbread. next, cover with your choice of fruit. (I think strawberries + bananas are a magical combination and I had them at home, so I used those). drizzle with honey. cut into slices (or squares) with a knife. and it’s up to you, but I added a dollop of whipped cream to each slice.
for ingredients: flatout pizza crust. plain greek yogurt. crunchy peanut butter. fresh (thinly sliced) strawberries + 1 banana. honey. ground cinnamon. small handful of (white) chocolate chips. whipped cream.
This is seriously making my mouth water right now. I’m definitely stealing this recipe! 😉
